How to configure your Slack/LawVu integration
To add LawVu to your Slack environment, follow the steps below:
Go to Apps > Add apps in Slack
Search for LawVu in the Slack App Directory
Depending on your Slack workspace permissions, you may need to wait for a Slack Administrator to approve use of the LawVu app before you can start using it.
Note: Your Slack Administrator can also pre-approve the LawVu app for use by anyone in your workspace - instructions here.
Create new matters from your existing Slack messages
Click on the ellipsis (three-dot) button on a specific message to open the options pane and select Create new matter in LawVu.
You will be presented with a matter creation dialog box.
Choose a matter type and fill in the matter creation fields. You can choose whether you want to assign it to a team, set a due date, and keep the attachments or not.
Any attachments on the originating message will be saved to the Files tab of the matter.
The content of the originating message will be used to fill in the Objectives field if one is configured for the chosen matter type.
Once you click Create Matter, a message showing details about the new matter will be added as a threaded reply against the originating message and you will be able to click View in LawVu to access the newly created Matter in the portal.
Create matters from a newly created message
If you want to create a new matter from a new message you are writing, enter the command
/lawvu create :
This will trigger a matter creation form that upon completing, will result in a new matter being created in LawVu.
