What is Insights ?

Insights is a data and analytics tool for in-house legal teams. LawVu Insights provides deep insights into in-house performance, vendor performance and spend management.

Because LawVu is the most comprehensive software platform for in-house legal counsel, the data that can be collected and surfaced is rich, enabling data-backed decision making and continual optimization

Which module will suit you best?

A. Free - Basic pre-defined reporting inside LawVu to help see where your legal work and team are at in-a-glance via table, or grid, view.

The free version includes :

  • Basic pre-defined high-level reporting to help see where your legal work and team are at in-a-glance

  • Metric details, via a grid-view, for the last 30 days, such as a summary of Matters, Contracts & Fees, and then monthly overviews – note you are unable to drill down into further details

  • Save reports as an image or download to an Excel file to create your own metrics and graphs

  • The reports only include LawVu fields

Access it from the Reports module on your left navigation bar.

B. Standard - Advanced pre-defined POC reporting using Tableau to help dive into more detail about your legal operations. Includes interactive data you can drill down into.

The Standard version includes :

  • Pre-defined Tableau dashboards to help dive into more detail about your legal operations.

  • Advanced reporting with no timeframe restrictions.

  • An easy to view and understand breakdown of Matters by: Status, Matter Manager, Type, Department, Risk & complexity, Completion cadence over time.

  • Save reports as an image or download to various formats and graphics or schedule automatic report timing to be sent via email

  • An interactive dashboard with the ability to drill down deeper into the metrics – e.g. one click into a Matter

  • Only includes LawVu fields.

C. Premium - Advanced customized reporting using Tableau for customers who know exactly what questions they need answered and how they want to view the data.

  • Includes all LawVu and Custom fields.

  • Can be designed and built by LawVu or by customers in-house. Bespoke Talbeau dashboards built specifically for your team.

  • Customized reporting with no timeframe restrictions.

  • Insights fields and views are entirely customizable across Matters, Contracts, Fees, Tasks etc - we will work with you to define what is needed.

  • Ability to import non-LawVu data sources.

  • Bespoke front end with Organization logo.

  • Save reports as an image or download to various formats and graphics or schedule automatic report timing to be sent via email.

  • Professional services will support you through the process and set everything up for you to then manage your reporting in-house whenever you want.

  • On-going support and changes able to be made via our Professional Services team as, or when, your needs change.

With these options in mind, ask yourself :

What is the problem you need to solve? What questions do you answer currently? What questions would be nice to now start answering? These could be based around time, resources or costs.

Who needs to know what when? Different teams/ stakeholders will want different information – consider what each group needs and for what purpose. For example, do you need specific reports at a specific time?

What fields are VIF’s? Do you need standard and/or custom fields? Make sure you note them down so they are front-of-mind eg. check your configuration i.e. which LawVu fields are you using?
