We've made it really easy for you to keep on top of work flowing into your LawVu account from your various clients.
In this article:
How intake works
When matters are created, the matter owner (usually someone from one of your clients) will assign a matter manager (someone from your law firm) to oversee it.
In most instances, the matter owner will know who they want to assign as the matter manager, and that person will receive a direct notification.
However, if the matter owner doesn't know who to assign as the matter manager, and your firm has collaboration-level access, they can simply select your law firm (as an entity) and assign it as the matter manager. This will place the matter in your intake queue for that particular client.
Permissions
You must have the Intake Manager permission enabled to access the Intake queue.
If you're unsure whether it's enabled, click your profile (at the top right of LawVu), then select Client Access from the menu on the left.
Note: Contact your Org administrator to enable your Intake manager permission for a specific client.
Notifications
The people at your firm managing the Intake Queue will receive a notification (in-app or by email, depending on the user's notification settings) when the client creates the matter.
Where is the intake queue?
First, log in to LawVu and click the Matters (briefcase) icon. From there, you will see a number next to 'Intake' that indicates how many of your clients have matters in the intake queue.
Just click on Intake to see all the matters in the queue.
Once there, you can click on the matters, review them, and assign the correct person to be the Matter Manager.
As an intake manager, you can also reassign matters directly from the grid. Watch the animation below to see how this is done.
