Calendar exporting lets you view your LawVu Planner on an external calendar that supports the iCal format.

To do this:

  1. Log into LawVu

  2. Click 'My Profile' (top right of the screen) - this will take you to your profile page.

  3. Scroll down until you see 'iCalendar sync.'

  4. Activate the sync by toggling the switch.

  5. Copy the URL and insert it into your appropriate calendar application (see below for examples).

Outlook 365

  1. Open MS Outlook 365 to add the iCal feed: Go to calendar > click "Add Calendar" > select "From Internet."

  2. Paste your LawVu iCal link into the URL field > Click Add. In the Folder Name box, please type the name of the calendar as you want it to appear in Outlook, and then click OK.

  3. When you start Outlook, it checks the LawVu calendar for updates and downloads any changes. Anytime you refresh your calendars or inbox in Outlook, LawVu will send the most up-to-date version of your LawVu calendar.

Outlook 2016

  1. Home Tab in Outlook 2016 > Open Calendar > select "From Internet"

  2. Paste your LawVu iCal URL into the field. Click OK.

  3. Click "Yes" if you want to add this calendar to Outlook and subscribe to updates.

  4. You can view your calendar side by side or in "overlay mode" via View Tab > Overlay Mode.

Google Calendar

  1. Log into your Google Calendar

  2. Look for the 'Add Calendar' button on the left

  3. In the dropdown menu next to that button, choose 'Add from URL.'

  4. Paste in the URL from your LawVu profile (above).

  5. Click 'Add Calendar'

Watch the short video clip on how to sync the Planner Gmail:

The sync between the calendars can take up to 12-24 hours to reflect your tasks, due dates, and reminders.

By default, all key dates will appear as 15-minute entries on your calendar at 9 am, and you will receive notifications from your calendar accordingly.

You can also set up specific times when tasks are due. If the timing isn’t specified, it will be defaulted to 9 am.

Known limitations:

  • The calendar feed doesn't sync dates beyond 12 months, reason being is to reduce the query time and the amount of data being pulled from the database.

  • The sync operates as a one-way sync. Once the calendar sync is set up, it checks the LawVu calendar for updates and downloads any changes. Any date changes should be made in the LawVu planner and not in the external calendar. If you attempt to modify the date in the external calendar, it will revert back to the original date displayed in LawVu.
