Having trouble with the Gmail add-in? This article outlines common solutions to help you get back on track quickly.

🔧 Common Fixes:

Refresh the add-in & Clear user properties

Most issues are cleared by performing an add-in refresh. To do that, click on the context menu and select Refresh and then Clear user properties.

Clear cache & Logout from Lawu

Clear your browser cache and log out of LawVu. Then log in again to reset your session.

Re-authorize permission to LawVu

To reauthorize permission to LawVu, click on the ellipsis menu and select Reauthorize.

Click on Allow to let LawVu access your Google account for tracking email threads.

Uninstall and reinstall the add-in

Sometimes a fresh install is needed.

If you can't install add-ins yourself, contact your IT team to uninstall and reinstall the Gmail add-in.

Check for Shared or Delegated Mailboxes

LawVu does not currently support Gmail shared or delegated inboxes. We are actively working on this feature for a future release.

Check to see if Chrome is up-to-date

Ensure you're using the latest version of Chrome to avoid compatibility issues. Here's how:

  • Click the three-dot menu in Chrome.

  • Go to Help > About Google Chrome to check for updates.

Perform a hard refresh in Chrome

LawVu is browser-based software; clearing the cache can help because it removes temporary files stored in the browser. These files can sometimes become corrupted or outdated, which can cause problems with the software.

For a hard refresh, please start by right-clicking on the LawVu page and selecng Inspect. Then, right-click the refresh icon next to the browser URL and choose Empty Cache and Hard Reload.

🐢Performance issues

If the Gmail add-in is slow or not loading correctly, check for the following:

  • Unstable or slow internet connection

  • VPNs that may be routing traffic inefficiently

  • Corporate proxies interfering with requests

  • Ad blockers (especially those that may block LawVu's LD scripts)
