Legal notes for matter management

Your new go-to for capturing decisions, progress and legal thinking right where the work happens. And if you have access to Workspace Intelligence, you can use AI to catch up in seconds. Additionally, legal notes is fully integrated into a newly streamlined matter record layout, to help you access information faster and work more efficiently. Read this help article to learn more.

New and improved search

Search with greater precision and find the exact information you’re looking for faster. Here’s what’s new:

  • Quick search: See up to 60 results at once, toggle between Matters, Contracts, or All, and apply multiple filters to get to what you need faster.

  • Advanced search: More facets and filters to help you get more relevant results. Apply multiple filters simultaneously, toggle between different categories and quickly see key information at a glance with improved, more comprehensive search results layout.

Add your favorites to the Hub

Our customers love personalizing their Hub to quickly see and access work and information that's most important to them. We’ve added the ability to tag matter and contract record as favorites for easier access to your most important work. Read this help article to learn how to customise your Hub.

Dioptra integration: Instant contract reviews within LawVu

Dioptra has joined the LawVu ecosystem, bringing you more choice when it comes to integrated contract review automation tools. Dioptra helps you speed up routine reviews – like NDAs and supplier agreements – with playbooks and rules defined by you.

  • Receive automatic redlines with inline edits and comments for full context

  • Access a clause library in Word to improve consistency and reduce tab-switching

  • Tailor to your needs with 600+ pre-built rules and out-of-the-box playbook options

🔐 Default ‘General’ file access for greater collaboration

We're making collaboration easier – your organization can now set the default file access level to General, so anyone with access to the record can immediately view new files and folders. No more manual updates or access roadblocks – just smoother, faster sharing from the start.

If you would like to have General as your default file access setting, you can opt into this change by contacting the Support team (via chat) or your Customer Success Manager.

📝 Parallel contract approvals

Our customers are loving how automated approval workflows simplify contract approvals to accelerate turnaround times, enhance compliance, and reduce admin.

Now you can configure multiple approval workflows to run in parallel, which is ideal when multiple departments need to review a contract before final approval. This means everyone who needs to approve can, in any order, eliminating unnecessary delays. Read this help article to learn more about automated contract approval workflows.

💰Spend management updates

  • UTBMS codes are now visible in spend reporting: If you’re using this standardized system, it’s easier to report on legal spend and expenses. Please note: UTBMS codes are only valid for LEDES invoices.

  • Multiple currencies defaults: Now conversion rates are automatically populated when you select a currency, and all you need to do is click Add to apply and save your chosen currency. These rates are used to convert invoices received in foreign currencies into your organization's default local currency. You’ll need to take action to apply this change and update currencies over time, so be sure to read this article to learn how to take advantage of this feature.

  • Multiple billing entities: If your organization operates with multiple billing entities, now you can customize which entity appears on each invoice. Learn how to configure this here.

We have 3 new AI features in development – all designed to enhance your productivity and impact with automation that streamlines workflows and reduces admin – without compromising control or integrity. If you want early access, let us know or stay tuned for more information.

Intelligent contract upload

AI automatically extracts key data from your contracts at the point of upload and populates it into LawVu so you can get your better quality data into LawVu fields faster – and without data entry! Even more exciting, it’ll work for business users when they upload contracts through the Business Portal, so you get more accurate and complete request forms. And legal teams can batch upload up contracts, with AI suggesting types and pre-filling metadata for quick validation, saving time and improving accuracy at scale. See it in action below.

AI-powered billing guideline review v2

Direct feedback from early access customers has led to enhancements in our latest spend management innovation – automated, AI-powered billing guideline review for the invoices you or your firms load into LawVu. This feature detects discrepancies in invoices without the admin overhead that's common in other tools. The latest iteration delivers enhanced accuracy and templates; new dashboards for deeper insights into compliance rates and cost savings; and more.

LawVu Lens

LawVu Lens is an advanced contract analysis tool that’s coming later this year. It will amplify the value of your contract repository by allowing you to analyze the whole contract repository and bring hard to reach data to the surface. Stay tuned for more details as we progress.
