Our most powerful AI features yet – beta program is now open

We're rolling out some of our most exciting AI capabilities yet, and we want your help shaping them.

Three new AI features are now available in the beta program:

  • LawVu Assistant for legal: Chat with LawVu to get instant answers and take action securely governed inside your LegalOS. Create requests, matters, tasks, notes, and contracts through a conversational experience built right into your workflow.

  • Legal Assistant for the business: Let stakeholders submit requests and get self-service guidance drawn from your approved policies, straight from the Business Portal.

  • Custom skills: Provide a framework for the assistant to use to give you the right response for your organization in any scenario.

Note: Access to LawVu Intelligence is required to enable these features. Not sure if you have it? Get in touch with your Org Admin.

Want to be part of the beta program and help us shape where these features go? Learn more about these new features and register your interest here.

Securely connect your AI tools to your LegalOS

Already using an AI tool like Claude, ChatGPT, or Microsoft Copilot? Now you can connect any tool that supports the MCP (Model Context Protocol) open standard directly to LawVu, so your AI works with your real legal data instead of guessing. No custom code, no compromising on security.

See it in action below:

Why it’s awesome:

  • Connect AI without custom code: Enable tools like Claude, ChatGPT, and MS Copilot to securely work with LawVu.

  • Give your AI the right legal context: Let AI analyze contracts, answer policy questions, and work across your matters and legal data – grounded in what's actually in LawVu, not generic guesses.

  • Keep control of your data: Maintain secure, auditable AI interactions with role-based permissions and governed access to legal information.

A few examples of what LawVu MCP server enables:

  • Search and query matters and contracts in natural language, with structured results and links back to LawVu

  • Summarize and report across matters or contracts, including key details, gaps, risks, and status updates

  • Retrieve policy and knowledge answers grounded in internal legal content

  • Create matters or trigger contract workflows directly from an AI tool

  • Update matter status, create tasks, and set deadlines from connected AI workflows

More flexible contract approval workflows

You can now select the contract owner as an approver when configuring contract approval workflows.

When this option is chosen, the approval step automatically assigns to whoever owns that contract. No need for manual workarounds of adding ad hoc approvers when contracts are in flight.

It's a small but meaningful change that makes your workflows smarter and easier to maintain as your team and contracts evolve.

Accounting codes allocation for invoices and spend

Managing legal spend just got a lot more powerful. You can now create up to eight accounting codes, allocate them directly on matters, default them onto invoices, and push them straight to Accounts Payable, all within LawVu.

That means less manual reconciliation, cleaner data for your finance team, and richer reporting on how legal spend is distributed across departments and other metrics.

What's new at a glance:

  • Create and manage up to 8 accounting codes

  • Allocate codes on matters and default them to invoices

  • Update invoice allocations as needed

  • Auto-provide to Accounts Payable

  • Report on legal spend across departments and other dimensions

Already using the cost center field or a workaround? No changes are required on your end; everything keeps working as is. When you're ready to migrate, configuration is straightforward and includes import capability.

More control over inactivity timeout settings

Compliance Security organizations can now access the full range of inactivity timeout options, from 5 minutes up to 12 hours, removing the previous 30-minute cap.

This gives your team the flexibility to configure timeouts that match your operational needs without compromising security.

What's changed:

  • Compliance Security orgs now have access to the same timeout range as standard organizations (5 minutes to 12 hours)

  • Default timeout for Compliance Security orgs is now set to 10 minutes

  • Improved in-app guidance includes HIPAA recommendation notes to help you stay on the right side of compliance requirements

Worth a quick check: These changes won't apply automatically, so Org Admins should take a moment to review and update their timeout configuration.

Our recommendation: For HIPAA compliance, we continue to recommend a timeout of 15 minutes or less.

Business users can now edit contracts in Microsoft Word

Business Users can now edit contracts directly in Microsoft Word, the same way Legal Users already do. No downloading and re-uploading required.

When previewing a contract, Business users will now see the Microsoft Word editing option alongside the existing Replace button, making it faster and simpler to make changes without breaking their workflow.

Please note that for business users to be able to edit:

  • The contract must be a Microsoft Word document

  • Your organization must have Office (Word or Office Online) enabled in LawVu Admin

  • The contract must not be executed

Webinar: Drafting and reviewing contracts with AI

AI promises to transform contract work, but between the hype and the horror stories, practical guidance is hard to find. This session cuts through the noise with live demos in LawVu Draft, covering where AI genuinely helps in drafting and review, where it falls short, and how to tell the difference. You'll leave with a framework for evaluating AI-generated outputs and prompting techniques you can apply straight away.

Can’t make it live? No problem. Register anyway, and we’ll send you the recording.

Webinar: Learn about LawVu spend enhancements

Managing outside counsel spend requires more than invoice processing alone. Join us to explore how LawVu spend management helps legal teams bring review, approvals, and reporting into better alignment to improve visibility, reduce friction, and strengthen control over spend.

With an emphasis on recently released LawVu spend enhancements, the session will demonstrate where Spend can add even more value for both existing customers and teams considering it.

You’ll learn:

  • Practical ways to strengthen invoice review, approvals, and reporting

  • Where accounting code allocation, bulk invoice approval, and pre-tax approval conditions can reduce friction

  • How richer invoice grids, LEDES invoice descriptions, and voided invoice visibility support clearer review
