How to duplicate matters

Create a copy of an existing matter for an RFP.

Need to reuse an old piece of work?

Set your matter up once and use our 'Duplicate Matter' feature to create as many copies as you need.

To be able to duplicate matters, you need to be either the Matter Owner or the Matter Manager (or their delegate).

Open the matter and click on the ellipsis button as shown in the short clip below and select 'Duplicate matter'.

Optionally update the name of the new matter and set an internal reference

Indicate whether you want to copy over associated files and tasks

Click on the 'Create Duplicate' button, and we will jump you straight into the new matter, where you can make any adjustments and assign it to the relevant outside counsel to respond.

Please note that if you are the matter manager or owner, it will automatically assign you the same role on the duplicated matter, while the other role will be unassigned.
