How to install the LawVu app from Microsoft Teams
To add LawVu, search for and install it from Apps on the left side of Teams:
Note: You will need to install the LawVu for Teams app, which corresponds to your LawVu region. If you're unsure which region is correct, please reach out to our support team (instructions at the end of this article)
You can also access the add-ins from the MS Marketplace directly by following this link.
Once LawVu is added, type Sign in and hit Enter to connect to your LawVu account.
You will then need to authorize LawVu to start using it.
Create new matters from an existing message in Microsoft Teams
Click on the ellipsis (three-dot) button on a specific message to open the context menu, and then under "More actions," click on Create matter:
The below pop-up will appear:
Once you have clicked on "Add LawVu to team/chat," you will be presented with the matter creation dialog box or the Sign in modal if you have not been signed in and authorized the LawVu add-in to Teams yet.
Choose a matter type and fill in the matter creation fields. You can populate all relevant fields for the chosen matter type and remove any attachments if they are irrelevant.
Any attachments on the originating message will be saved to the Files tab of the matter.
The content of the originating message will be used to fill in the Objectives field if one is configured for the chosen matter type:
Once you click Create Matter, an automated reply showing details about the new matter will be pre-populated, ready for you to click the "Send" icon to leave behind an audit trail of the created matter:
Create matters in compose mode
If you want to create a new matter from a new message you are writing, use the toolbar icon provided by the LawVu app:
This will trigger a matter creation form that will result in a new matter being created in LawVu upon completion.
