With the Directory, you can view a complete list of all the Legal service providers your legal team works with. You can add new connections, remove LSPs from the system, and monitor your existing relationships.

There is no cost to the LSP for working with you in LawVu if you choose to invite them.

If you are a LawVu Spend Management customer and need to enable this feature or want to learn more about the LawVu Spend product, simply get in touch with your contact at LawVu.

In this article:

Add a Legal service provider to your Directory

Only In-house Legal and Administrator roles have access to make changes to the Directory.

Note that there are two ways to add an LSP in LawVu: through the Legal Service Providers tab or from the Directory, both options being equivalent.

Go to the Directory icon and select Add a new contact.

In the popup that opens, you can first search the LawVu directory for the required Legal Service Provider that you wish to invite.

Search the LawVu directory

In this example, I have searched for and found “Legal 123”. Note that LSPs may have branches across multiple regions, so choose the relevant LSP branch or add a new one if needed.

Click on Add next to the LSP.

You can then select the LSP access level (Collaboration, Billing Only, or No Access).

To continue connecting with the legal service provider, add your preferred key contact at the firm.

Note: If the LSP is already in the global directory, it's likely that the external counsel already has an assigned organization admin(s). If you are sending the invitation to someone who doesn't have LawVu access yet, the current organization admin(s) will be notified to accept the invitation to connect and add your designated key contact as a new user. Once the current admin has accepted the invitation and accepted the request to add your key contact, the new user will subsequently receive the invitation.

If the directory search reveals no matches, follow the instructions below to add a new legal service provider.

Add a new LSP

Click the 'Add a new legal service provider' button if the search reveals no matches.

Set up the access level for the LSP

You will be asked to specify the access level you would like to have with the LSP.

Collaboration

  • The LSP will receive an invitation to set up their login to the LawVu portal.

  • The LSP will have access to the matters, contracts, and RFPs you add him to.

  • The LSP will be able to upload invoices.

Billing Only

  • The LSP will receive an invitation to set up their login to the LawVu portal.

  • The LSP can upload invoices in LawVu but has no visibility into any matters and contracts.

  • The LSP will not have access to other details or participate in any other activities beyond being able to upload invoices.

No access

  • The LSP will not receive an invitation, and they won't be able to access the LawVu portal. They will not have access to any matters, contracts or files, or perform any actions like uploading invoices.

  • You will be able to see the LSP listed in your Directory, but the LSP will not see you.

  • You will still be able to upload invoices for them, and they will appear in your spend reporting.

Once you have selected the appropriate access level, you'll be prompted to input further information for the new LSP such as the address and details of your key contact at the firm to whom you can send the invitation.

Note: When adding LSPs with Collaboration and Billing Only access, it is required to provide key contact information. To change LSP key contact and learn more about LSP profiles, click here.

Click "Connect". The email invitation will be sent, and the LSP will be listed in your Directory.

To see a list of current LSP accounts, their status, resend invites, and change their access level, go to the Settings / Legal Service Providers tab.
