Based on your feedback, you can now open Word documents from LawVu directly in Microsoft Word Desktop for editing. A new action next to every .docx file lets you open it directly in Word Desktop. Once open, our add-in launches automatically, allowing you to save changes back to LawVu with one click. The add-in stays open if you want to make further edits and save again.

We’ve also added automatic version detection—if someone else edits the document while you have it open, you’ll get a warning to avoid losing changes.

Just click the three dots next to the document and select Edit in Word.

You’re also able to access the option to Edit in Word from the file preview:

Org admins can activate from the Microsoft Word listing on the "Integrations" page in LawVu. Simply click "Get started" to enable the feature on behalf of your organization.

We’re about to launch some exciting new features and we want to make sure you’re ready!

Please note: The new standard AI features are free for customers on the Essentials, Ultimate, and Matters plan. If you’re unsure which plan you’re on, contact your Customer Success Manager.

Once available, your LawVu admins will receive a notification, allowing them to activate the new features for you to use. We expect this to happen in the next few weeks and can’t wait to hear what you think!
