Instead of just making folders private, now you can allow broad access to your files or folders using the following file access levels:
General
This allows anyone that can access the containing matter or contract, including:Standard users
Workspace users
Teams or security group member
Limited
This allows only workspace users and specified Standard users (both which require access to the containing matter or contract).By default, the Limited access level provides file access for:
The Standard user who created or uploaded the file (you can revoke access for the user later if required).
Workspace users who can access the matter or contract, including:
Members of the Matter/Contract
Members of any specified Team
Members of the privileged Security groups
Specific Standard users can be added or removed manually.
Restricted
This allows only specified users or teams (both which require access to the containing matter or contract). The person who restricts the file or folder will be added automatically as the restrictor.
Specified people or teams can be added or removed manually.
Notes:
Users cannot remove themselves.
General information
Limited
is the system default access level of a matter/contract file or folder when created or uploaded.
If a Standard user creates a file/folder, they will be a specified Standard user with access.
Nested folder access inheritance.
Setting access to a folder will be inherited by all subfolders with the same or wider access level.
For example: Setting a folder to
Limited
access will not be inherited byRestricted
subfolders.
Moving files and folders may alter access.
When moving files and folders to the top level, they will retain their previous access settings.
