Overview
Access bundles allow you to control who can view, create, or edit content in LawVu Draft. You can apply access bundles to items such as:
Folders
Clauses
Templates
Legal guides
This helps you control which users or groups can work with specific content.
Difference from user rights
Access bundles work together with user rights, but they are not the same.
User rights determine what features a user can access in LawVu Draft (for example, creating templates or managing attributes).
Access bundles determine what a user can do with specific content in the library.
For example, to create a clause in a folder, a user must:
Have the user right to create clauses, and
Have permission through the access bundle assigned to that folder.
Both conditions must be met.
Managing Access Bundles
Administrators can manage access bundles in the Administration panel.
Configuring Permissions
Each access bundle allows you to configure three types of permissions.
Read & Use allows users to view and use content. For example, users can open folders, search for clauses, insert clauses into documents.
Create New allows users to add new content, such as creating a clause in a folder, adding a subfolder, or creating a new template.
Edit allows users to modify existing items, such as updating a clause, editing a template, or modifying a Clause Hunt locker.
Permissions can be assigned either to all users in the organization or to specific user groups, such as departments.
If a user belongs to multiple groups, the permissions from those groups are combined. For example, if a user belongs to both the Corporate and Employment groups and the Employment group has more permissions, the user will receive those higher permissions.
Assigning access bundles to content
To apply an access bundle, it must be assigned to a specific item in LawVu Draft.
This is done outside the Access Bundles settings, depending on the type of content.
For example, folder access bundles are managed in the Folders preferences panel.
