The notifications system in LawVu is designed to help streamline your day by enabling the prioritization of your workload. To do this, notifications are kept separate and distinct from actions.
Notifications can be considered purely informative alerts.
Actions are alerts that something is waiting on you that requires your input in order to see it resolved.

Notifications
Notifications appear on the bell icon next to your profile icon in the top right corner of the screen. If there are any pending notifications, a teal number will indicate how many are waiting.
Click on the bell icon to open the Notifications/Mentions toolbar.
Notifications are purely informative. They contain information regarding the matters and contracts on which you are a member, including items such as a person being added to a matter, an action being resolved, a message being replied to, an assignment having been accepted, etc.
If the notification refers to a matter or contract, clicking on the notification will take you directly to that item.
Org Administrators have the ability to choose the preferred notification settings for each of the LawVu user roles e.g. In-House Legal, Contributor, etc. To find out how to do this, check this article: How to Manage Default Notifications
You can also turn on/off the sound for notifications by toggling on/off the audible chime
Actions
To access your Actions list, click the Inbox - Actions icon from the left menu.
A numbered red dot displays next to it letting you know how many items require your attention.
Actions are alerts that require your attention to progress in something. This can include items such as a Matter Manager assignment needing acceptance, a status update request, a contract approval request, or an invoice approval request.
โ
Click the Actions icon to bring up the action list.
Clicking on the Action will take you directly to the preview item that needs your attention.
Any actions performed to complete the Action will notify the individual who requested the action (depending on the user's notification preferences), as well as in the Activity tab of the corresponding matter.
Mentions
Mentions are alerts that someone has @mentioned you, e.g., on conversations, tasks, or status updates. You can find them by clicking the @icon next to your profile picture in the top right corner of the screen. If there are any pending mentions, a red number will show how many are awaiting your attention.
Click on the @icon to open the Mentions toolbar.
Click on each @mention notification to preview the matter or contract associated with the conversation or tasks where you were mentioned. Doing so will reduce or clear the red number indicating pending mentions. You also have the option to dismiss each mention or dismiss all if you wish to.
How to manage your notifications
To manage your notifications click your initials in the top right of the screen, then go to My Profile / Notifications.
From there, you'll see a list of every notification in the system as well as the ability to switch them on or off and decide whether you want to receive notifications from the app, email, or both.
