Get even more value from your LawVu platform by leveraging the power of “LawVu Engage” to streamline collaboration with your outside counsel, law firms, or service providers.

Overview
External Legal Service providers (LSPs) are a vital resource for in-house legal teams.
Maximize ROI and get even more value out of these trusted partners by leveraging the power of LawVu to streamline sending instructions, scoping work, and agreeing on estimates and fees with your law firms. Here you can collaborate in real-time on matters, receive invoices and manage spend all in one connected system.
Simply get in touch with your contact at LawVu. They will assist you in setting up vendor management so you can invite your preferred LSPs to collaborate with you in LawVu. There is no cost to the LSP for doing so.
Note: You must have LawVu Admin access to turn on Vendor Management and add organizations and connect them to your organization in LawVu.
Engage outside counsel already in the directory
1 - From the LawVu Home page, click on the “Directory” icon in the bottom-left of the screen.
2 - On the Directory page, click on the “Add Organization” button on the top-left.
3 - In the popup that opens, you can first search for the Organization you need to invite.
In this example, I have searched for and found “PUM C”
To invite an Organization that is already in the system, click on “Invite” next to the Organization name. An email invitation will be sent and once accepted, the firm is then added to your Directory.
Add new outside counsel to the directory
If the search reveals no matches, then click the “Invite a new organization to LawVu” button.
You will need to enter the email address of your key contact at the firm to whom you can send the invitation. Once the email invitation is accepted, the firm is added to your Directory.
Matters can now be assigned to that firm under the “Matter Manager” role. Use the “People picker” to assign it to a specific lawyer or simply drop it into the intake queue, where they can triage and assign a specific Matter Manager themselves.
Be aware that the matter will remain in your organization's intake box until someone from the external law firm actually accepts the assignment. This is to ensure you do not lose oversight of the matter under the mistaken impression that someone else is handling it.
When accessing a matter, the LSP user will have virtually the same view as a user from your own organization, with only a few differences :
the LSP user can only ever be assigned as Matter Manager or Delegate Matter Manager, never Matter Owner
the LSP user will not be able to restrict/unrestrict matters.
