Hi there 👋,
Welcome to the InsideVu. This release is about giving you more time back with sharper reporting, faster approvals, and a smoother experience across matters, contracts, and tasks. Here's what's new in LawVu.
PS: Previous versions of The InsideVu are available in the Help Center. Please give us 5 minutes of feedback here to help improve our communications and announcements.
Kind regards,
The LawVu Team
LawVu is now an official ChatGPT plugin
We're excited to share that LawVu is now officially listed as a plugin by OpenAI. If ChatGPT or Codex is part of your daily workflow, turning on LawVu connectivity is now simpler than ever, with no more "unsafe" warnings getting in your way.
How it works: search for LawVu in ChatGPT’s Plugins menu and switch it on. Reach out to Support to get MCP enabled for your organization.
Enhanced matter turnaround time reporting
Now you can exclude time a matter spent 'on hold' from completion time calculations, so reporting reflects the time your team was actively progressing work, not time lost waiting on business input, third-party responses, regulatory approvals, or stakeholder sign-off. The result: fairer, more accurate metrics that showcase your team's speed.
LawVu for Outlook: Compose mode improvements
When composing a new email, you now have more options for capturing the conversation to the relevant matter or contract in LawVu. Compose mode now supports the same save options as the rest of the Outlook add-in: you can save, track, capture full threads, and select a destination folder.
Approve contracts and invoices without leaving your inbox
We recently introduced interactive approvals in Outlook, where you can approve or decline contracts and invoices instantly, right from your inbox. Now, this experience is available more broadly, including on Outlook for Mobile, Outlook for Mac, and classic Outlook for Windows. If your org hasn't switched this on yet, contact LawVu support to get started.
New and improved Contracts header
We've redesigned the Contracts header to be more compact, responsive, and easier to use, giving you more room for contract details and document preview. What's new:
A tidier layout, with secondary actions tucked neatly out of the way, such as status updates, quick links, favorites, grouped in the top-right
Contract type is editable directly from the header
New date picker for expiry dates and reminders
Fully responsive across screen sizes, making your experience more consistent no matter which device you're on
Panels now open below the header, so the Assistant (available to beta customers) and the Quick Search bar stay accessible
Easier contract voiding for members
We've enhanced contract permissions to allow contract members to void and unvoid contracts. This makes everyday contract management more efficient and gives teams greater flexibility when working together. (Note: this capability isn't available to Limited members or Standard users.)
Business Portal enhancement: Improved text contrast for light backgrounds
Org Admins can now choose black text for light-colored header backgrounds in the Business Portal. This help ensures better readability and accessibility, whatever your brand imagery looks like.
Tasks that respect your time – and your time zone
Managing tasks across a distributed team just got easier. Tasks without a specific time no longer default to 9:00 AM; they now sync to your calendar as true all-day events. And due times now automatically display in each user's local time zone (including daylight saving time), helping geographically dispersed legal teams stay aligned without scheduling confusion.
Tip: Make sure your LawVu profile time zone is set correctly so task due dates and times display accurately across LawVu and connected calendars.
Never miss a deadline on your tasks again
LawVu now sends a daily summary of tasks due that day via email (delivered each morning around 9:00 AM), in-app, or both. Both channels are on by default, and preferences can be updated at any time.
Back by popular demand: AI prompting masterclass for in-house counsel
With AI now doing much of the drafting, reviewing, and redlining, the prompt is usually what separates reliable output from confidently wrong output. After a strong response earlier this year, we're re-running this session for anyone who missed it. This is a CLE-eligible webinar.
We will walk you through how LLMs actually interpret legal prompts, and how to structure them for drafting, reviewing, and redlining. You'll see live examples from real contract scenarios, plus the most common mistakes in-house teams make and how to fix them.
Can’t make it live? No problem. Register anyway, and we’ll send you the recording.
Legal Leaders Connect, our one-day event for in-house legal professionals, is heading back to Sydney!
Join us on Wednesday, 16 September 2026, for a practical, future-focused day on what it takes for in-house teams to succeed in 2026 and beyond. You'll walk away with meaningful connections and practical insights on scaling modern legal functions, future-proofing your in-house legal career, how AI is being applied in real-world legal teams, and more.
