With the Team Assignment feature enabled, you can make sure teams are assigned to matters and contracts, and this will be enforced when a record is created. And Team Ownership gives team-based LawVu users, access to the matter or contract, immediately after creation.

Matter and contract creation with automatic team assignment
When a specific team has been set under Team Ownership, any matter or contract will be automatically assigned to the team during creation and will inherit membership access.
When "make team assignment mandatory on contract creation" is turned on, your users will then be presented with a red warning and will be forced to select a team before they can create the record.
Note: The users will be presented with the assignment modal only when you have team assignment on matter/contract creation enabled.
β
It is worth noting that when you choose to enable automatic team assignment, it will automatically assign a team during the creation process. However, users still have the ability to change it if required. The mandatory team assignment ensures that a team will be automatically assigned when a new item is created, but it does not necessarily enforce any particular team.
Further notes
This feature can be used in conjunction with the auto team assignment and auto member assignment features, as explained in this help article.
Teams can be set on matter and contract forms where you may have also configured the restricted flag option. Please be advised that after the creation, the restricted rule will strip all matter and contract membership down to members only, and will remove the team visibility for any team assigned. If you would like to set people as members on a restricted matter, please do this using the Member selector, or the auto member assignment feature.
For teams to show up in the team selector, they must be activated for work assignment in LawVu. To know more about this, click here.
