Hi there,
Welcome to the April edition of The InsideVu. We are back again with even more features and enhancements to make you and your team more productive with LawVu. In this edition, we’re got something new, too -- a few product tips from our team:
Found a new feature you’re excited about? Let us know in the chat! We’re available 24/7 and we’d love to hear what you think of our new features and improvements.
PS: If you missed the previous editions of The InsideVu, they’re all available here in the Help Center.
Last month we released a heap of heavily requested integrations like Slack, Salesforce, and Adobe Sign to make it as efficient as possible to get information to and from LawVu without disrupting the way you work. Now we’ve added Microsoft Teams to the LawVu integrations family.
💬 If your business is using Microsoft Teams to communicate and collaborate now you can receive requests and turn them into organized matters directly from Microsoft Teams messages. Include attachments from the originating message, and the app leaves behind a direct link to the newly created matter within the chat thread for easy access by all parties.
There are two new ways to streamline the process of adding and assigning people to contracts and matters, so you can save time and ensure the right people have access to the information they need.
Automatically assign teams and individuals. When teams and individuals are added to new matters and contracts at the time of creation you don’t have to take extra steps or run the risk of forgetting to assign the right people.
Org admins can set up the team assignment functionality; click here to learn how.
Note: If you don’t have teams or individuals automatically assigned, you can manually assign them on creation.
Automatically assign default matter manager. When placing a legal request, business users often don’t know who to assign their request to. Use this feature to assign a default matter manager or intake queue based on matter type.
Org admins can set up this functionality; learn how here.
Changing a contract type 📝
They say change is inevitable, we say no problem! You no longer need to void or re-create a new contract if your data requirements change throughout the contract lifecycle or you want to add more data fields you use on another contract type.
Simply select the new contract type from the drop-down ‘Contract Type’ menu,’ and new data fields will be added to the contract page.
Changes to contract types will be recorded in all relevant activity logs so your team can better track the changes made throughout the contract lifecycle.
You made it all the way to the bottom, and we’ve saved the best for last. Here are two new exciting search features and three quick tips to save time when using the search function so you can find things faster and work more efficiently in LawVu.
What's new in Search 🔍
Search matters using the last 3 or 4 digits of the matter ID. That means fewer numbers to copy or memorize, and a higher volume of successful searches.
Looking for recently accessed items? You don’t even need to search! There are two ways to find them:
Simply click on the search bar and it will show the last 8 items you accessed. Too easy.
Go to your Dashboard and check your Recent list - you can find matters, contracts or related files on that list.
Handy search tips to help you search smarter 🤓
Search suggestions. As soon as you start typing a search term in the search bar, you’ll see suggestions from matters, contracts and matter files. Either select from the list of suggestions or click Show More to show more results.
A recent enhancement lets you quickly access matters and contracts directly from search results without seeing the preview first. However, if you wish to preview it first, you can.
💪 Pro Tips for Using Global Search
The system not only searches matter title or file names but also all the details captured in your matter or contract fields.
The search functionality is not case sensitive so you don’t have to worry about specifying upper or lower case.
If you need to find a specific term, use double quotes. For example, typing “hedge fund” will trigger the search for that phrase only. You can also search multiple phrases if need be by adding double quotes for every phrase. For example, “hedge fund” “frank gomez” will search for both terms in a matter or file.
Did you know that you could export your search results? From a list of search results you can export either a selection, one page, or the entire search set. How handy. Simply click the checkbox above the search results and click the down-arrow icon next to the checkbox to download.
As always, get in touch if you need our help with these or other LawVu features.
